Our Services

HealthFirst clinics offer the widest variety of services available.  Your treatment program is custom tailored to your condition and your tolerance of treatment procedures.  A frequent comment that is heard is “I can’t go see a chiropractor because I can’t handle them twisting my neck” or “I can’t tolerate the popping during an adjustment so I don’t go.”  HealthFirst uses such a diversity of techniques that resolve these concerns.

An Activator adjusting instrument can be used which allows for a gentle low force treatment that is tolerated by anyone and everyone.  Special tables that use the weight of the body to assist with the treatment also allow for a treatment that is more comfortable for those who have difficulties with traditional chiropractic procedures.

The most important thing is we listen to the needs of our patients.

Lumbar Flexion Distraction

In addition to the standard chiropractic procedures, HealthFirst uses techniques that are not found in all other clinics.  Lumbar Flexion Distraction is a gentle procedure that helps to open the space where the nerve leaves the spine to give it room to function.  It has been shown to be extremely effective in the following conditions:

  • Sciatica / Leg Pain
  • Failed Back Surgical Syndromes
  • Disc Herniation / Ruptured Disc / Bulging Disc / Herniated Disc
  • Stenosis
  • Failed course of Steroid Injections
  • Spondylolisthesis
  • "Hip Pain" due to sciatic nerve irritation

Myofascial Release is a technique that is used on the soft tissues of the body (muscles, ligaments, and tendons) to break up adhesions and allow for more complete healing.  Myofascial release is extremely effective in tendonitis, bursitis, carpal tunnel, muscle strains, and a variety of spine conditions as well.

Baby being adjusted

Pediatric care is a focus of HealthFirst clinics.  Some of the chronic problems that are experienced as adults develop as a direct result of injuries and problems that occurred in childhood but were never properly treated.  Some of our offices are specially equipped with pediatric tables that are designed in a fun style to eliminate some of the fear and apprehension that a child experiences in any healthcare facility.

Dr. Hendricks Asks some important questions of interest to Watertown residents - Chiropractor Watertown Dr. Hendricks Asks...

If you have a fever, are you sick or healthy?
Chiropractors love asking this question because it gets to the root of the chiropractic difference. Turns out fevers, vomiting, coughing and even sneezing are all healthy responses. It means your body is working correctly. Taking medications to suppress these natural processes can actually prolong your recovery.
What's a side effect?
It may sound like a bonus; something extra, but chiropractors know it should more accurately called an "unintended effect," and "unwanted effect" or in some cases an "adverse effect." A pill can't come close to matching your body's ability to create and deliver the essential compounds it needs. That's when it's important to make sure your nervous system is working correctly—the purpose of chiropractic care!
